The NYC Health Department has provided oversight and support to anti-violence programs in the city since 2012. The Cure Violence model is an evidence-based public health approach that seeks to stop the spread of violence by detecting and interrupting conflicts; identifying and treating the highest risk individuals; and changing social norms.
In order to showcase the results of their Cure Violence programs, the NYC Department of Health and Mental hygiene (DOHMH) required a reporting solution to provide monthly reports to the NYC City Councils. The reporting tool needed to extract large amounts of raw data from multiple databases across districts to be compiled into visual dashboards that shows results, outcomes and action items in a clear format to various audiences.
Analytics Intell was brought on to execute this project. The project execution included:
- data cleansing
- designing a relational warehouse to create centralize data storage
- data extraction automation
- applied statistical models to identify target populations
- visual analytics
- reporting and dashboards
- ETL processing
- UX design
This project was designed and deployed as a web and mobile application in 2019, an important step in continuing to garner support for anti-violence programs across New York City.
Analytics Intell is a minority owned business eligible for New York City government contracts.
